Building Confidence through Technology

Save Texas Moms is proud to partner with Human-I-T, Digitunity, Texas A&M School of Public Health interns, and community organizations to offer free digital literacy workshops in Texas.

These workshops help participants develop essential computer and internet skills needed for education, employment, communication, and everyday life. This page includes workshop information, downloadable resources, and materials to support your learning journey.

From accessing telehealth appointments and community resources to applying for jobs and staying connected with loved ones, digital skills are increasingly essential.

How It Works for In-Person Workshops

Free Digital Literacy Training (English & Spanish)

Our partner organization, Human-I-T, offers free online digital literacy courses covering computer basics, internet use, email, online safety, and more!

  • "I will be using my laptop for schooling, work, pictures, videos, creative writing, songwriting, beats and creating."

    —AM

  • "I plan on using this laptop for school classes to obtain my diploma."

    —LL

  • "Thank you for the opportunity to participate in the Digital Literacy Program. If I receive a laptop, I plan to use it for online classes, sending emails, shopping, streaming movies and TV shows, editing videos for social media, managing my social media accounts, and completing tasks that are difficult or not possible to do on my phone. Having a laptop would help me with school, personal projects, and everyday responsibilities."

    —DM

  • "I stepped out of my comfort zone this summer by enrolling in a digital literacy class through our public library. Through this program, I have expanded my skills and connected with other mothers in the community and received a new computer and Microsoft Office at no cost. This laptop is a significant blessing. While I value our library, it is often difficult to manage five children while attempting to work or research future opportunities. Having this technology allows me to focus on my goals from the comfort of my home."

Having trouble setting up your donated Human-I-T laptop because Windows is asking you to create or sign in to a Microsoft account? This short video walks you through how to finish Windows 11 setup using a local account instead. This may be helpful for participants who do not have a Microsoft account or prefer not to create one during setup.
